System Landscape Management

This work center is the central point of access to the functions required to create and manage messages.

Features

Overview

 NOTE

The following queries are specified by default:

  • All systems

  • ABAP systems

  • Java systems

  • ABAP and Java systems

  • Systems with unknown architecture

 

  • Overview of system availability as status icons, according to the active query

  • System list

    A list of information about your systems, according to the active query. Hyperlinks in the columns System and Solutions go to the management of your solution or system in the system landscape.

  • Details

    If you select a system, information about its installed product versions, and their main instances and software components, is in the Details area. Hyperlinks go to the appropriate management level in the system landscape.

 NOTE

If you select a system in the overview, it remains selected if you change between the work center views.

Downtimes

You can document planned and unplanned system and server downtimes.

Transports

There are various tools to manage transports in ABAP systems.

 NOTE

There are hyperlinks to the tools, if there are RFC connections to the selected system.

System installation
  • Locale System Landscape tab

    System installation tools:

    • for Solution Manager system:

      • Create system

        You can create a system in the Solution Manager system landscape with a wizard.

      • Generate installation key

        The system automatically generates an installation key, which you need to install from, or upgrade to, SAP ECC from Release 5.0

      • Generate RFC connection

    • for satellite system:

      Client copy tools.

  • Service Marketplace tab

    There are hyperlinks to system installation information.

 NOTE

Some tools are only for ABAP systems.

Setup

There are hyperlinks to make various basic settings, such as Set-Up System Landscape.

Typical tasks

There is a hyperlink to Create Solution in every work center view.
